Round of Applause: FLETC Honors Employees
GLYNCO, Ga. - The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony at Building 912, in Glynco, Ga., June 12, 2024, celebrating the exceptional dedication and achievements of its staff and one of its 127 partner organizations. FLETC managers submitted 49 nominations, with both nominations and winners showcasing the high level of excellence and commitment within the FLETC community. FLETC Director Benjamine C. Huffman and FLETC Deputy Director Kai J. Munshi presented the awards.
"While it would be impossible at a ceremony like this to formally recognize every member of our FLETC team who demonstrates superior achievement, I would like to take a moment to personally thank each of you for the efforts you make every day in service to our nation’s law enforcement personnel. We have a noble mission, and I am proud to stand with you as part of this team," FLETC Director Benjamine C. Huffman stated.
The celebration honored outstanding contributions that significantly enhanced FLETC's mission and the training outcomes of our law enforcement professionals. Amidst the accolades, Amber Reep, Deputy Assistant Director, Mission and Readiness Support Directorate, Master of Ceremonies for the event, expressed her gratitude for being part of such an inspiring group of professionals.
"As members of FLETC, we all strive to exceed expectations and provide the best possible training for our law enforcement partners. Being recognized among so many deserving colleagues is truly an honor," Reep remarked.
As the awards presentation commenced, the spotlight fell on the Greg King Instructor of the Year Award, presented to Terry D. Page of the Physical Techniques Division, Core Training Operations Directorate, for his extraordinary innovation, productivity, and creativity in delivering the FLETC mission.

The FLETC Training Support Staff Member of the Year Award went to Lynnette A. Rock from the Cyber Division, Technical Training Operations Directorate. She supported the training mission and demonstrated outstanding innovation, creativity, dependability, teamwork, and professional representation of FLETC.
Edward J. McDonald, Investigative Operations Division, Technical Training Operations Directorate, received the FLETC Leadership Award for embodying leadership qualities and the core values championed by FLETC.

The FLETC Team of the Year Award acknowledged the success of teams completing significant projects or assignments through extraordinary performance and cross-directorate or external collaboration. This year’s award went to two teams: the Law Enforcement Small Unmanned Aerial System Pilot Training Program Development Team from the Core Training Operations Directorate, consisting of Larry A. Brooks, Milton L. Kennedy, and Troy W. Rowell; and the Athletic Trainers from the Physical Techniques Division, Core Training Operations Directorate, comprising Taura M. Anderson, Alexander R. Hawkins, Lori C. Howard, Greg R. Marr, Chad I. Perkin, and Chantal Pierre.

The FLETC Mission Award was presented to L. Meredith Quillen, Office of Chief Counsel for consistently going above and beyond to enhance external partnerships and implement processes that lead to the overall improvement of the FLETC mission.
The FLETC Excellence in Customer Service Award was given to employees who consistently exhibit a positive, respectful, and effective work ethic. Louira A. Augeri, International Training Division, National Capital Region Training Operations Directorate, and Carol K. Backman, Human Capital Office, Mission and Readiness Support Directorate, were the honorees.
The FLETC Innovation Award commends an individual or team that fosters excellence through groundbreaking innovation, significantly impacting an essential aspect of the FLETC mission. The Core Instructor Resourcing Division Team from the Core, Training Operations Directorate, including Michael Christoforo, Gregory K. Hawkins, Corey Henderson, Jimmie L. Leggett, Christopher L. Sanders, Rock R. Smith, and Carl M. Willis, were recognized.
Michael Klopfenstein, Investigative Operations Division, Technical Training Operations Directorate, received the FLETC Unsung Hero Award for his invaluable, behind-the-scenes contributions to the FLETC mission.
The FLETC Partnership Award acknowledged a Partner Organization whose exceptional achievements and performance notably benefit the United States, furthering the federal law enforcement community's efforts to protect the American people and homeland while enhancing FLETC's strategic goals. The Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Training Academy, was honored.
The Annual Awards are administered by the FLETC Human Capital Office and recognize outstanding FLETC staff members each year.
