At the event, FLETC offered insightful presentations on critical topics in law enforcement, including "Solving De-escalation through the Calculus of Reasonableness" and "The Impact and Implications of Katz v. United States, United States v. Jones, and Carpenter v. United States on Searches and Seizures under the Fourth Amendment." These sessions attracted significant attention, addressing the evolving challenges law enforcement officers face in areas such as de-escalation techniques and constitutional rights amidst the increasing use of technology. The "Calculus of Reasonableness" presentation emphasized how understanding factors like the immediacy of a threat can shape an officer’s ability to de-escalate potentially violent situations, an essential skill in today’s complex policing environment.

Throughout the conference, FLETC’s booth showcased its extensive range of training programs. As an interagency training organization for 129 federal agencies, FLETC’s offerings play a pivotal role in preparing law enforcement professionals. In fiscal year 2023 alone, FLETC trained nearly 70,000 students through over 868 training programs, demonstrating its significant contribution to law enforcement preparedness.
By participating in IACP 2024, FLETC reaffirmed its commitment to collaboration and shared learning, aligning its mission with the three tenets of the conference: training, networking, and education. The opportunity to engage with law enforcement leaders from across the globe emphasized FLETC’s role in shaping the future of law enforcement training.

As FLETC continues to invest in cutting-edge training and resources, its involvement in events like IACP is a testament to its dedication to improving law enforcement practices. The conference provided a valuable opportunity for FLETC to connect with partners, share knowledge, and discuss the evolving challenges faced by law enforcement agencies worldwide.
