CHARLESTON, SC -- FLETC Charleston will resume training operations today, August 8, 2024, at 7:30 a.m.  All employees should report for duty as per their normal schedule.  Employees should contact their supervisor with any questions.

Aug. 7, 2024, Messaging

CHARLESTON, SC -- Due to the impacts of Tropical Storm Debby, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) is continuing to suspend training at the Charleston, SC, training delivery point (TDP) on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. 
 
Access and Operations:

 
Charleston:

  • Wednesday, August 7: The Charleston TDP will only be accessible to personnel required to be on-Center. Other employees must telework if possible.
  • Thursday, August 8: Training at the Charleston TDP is projected to reconstitute training at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024. 

 
Telework and Leave Guidance:

  • Employees with Approved Telework Agreements: Should telework according to their normal schedule. If unable to work due to power outages or connectivity issues, code timecards as “Admin/Excused Absence” with transaction type “Weather and Safety Leave” and note “Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby” in the “Employee Remarks.” Supervisors should update “Supervisor Remarks” to reflect the employee’s inability to telework due to the weather emergency.
  • Employees without Telework Agreements: If unable to report to work must be placed on Admin/Excused Absence (Weather and Safety Leave) with appropriate remarks in WebTA.

 
Travel and Other Information:

  • Employees on official travel outside Charleston should continue as normal if possible. For travel within the storm zone, contact your supervisor for guidance.
  • FLETC’s Emergency Management and Continuity Office personnel and agency leadership will continue to monitor weather projections and adjust as needed.
  • FLETC staff should continue to be alert and responsive to Emergency Notification System (ENS) messages to receive critical information and facilitate accountability and welfare checks. 
  • FLETC will also continue to provide information via the FLETC app, FLETC Connect, social media, and fletc.gov. 

 
Ensuring the safety of personnel at all FLETC locations during this weather event is a top priority. If you have any questions, please contact your supervisor.

Aug. 4, 2024, Messaging:

Due to Tropical Storm Debby, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) is temporarily suspending training at the Glynco, GA, training delivery point (TDP) from Monday, August 5, 2024, until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. FLETC-Charleston training remains scheduled for August 5, with a temporary suspension of training on August 6, and will reconstitute training as soon as it’s safe to resume normal operations. Access and Operations:

Glynco, Ga.:

  • Monday, August 5: The Glynco TDP will only be accessible via the main gate to personnel required to be on-Center. Other employees must telework if possible.
  • Tuesday, August 6: Normal operations. Employees should report to work at their normal start time. Training will start at 9:30 a.m.

Charleston, SC:

  • Monday, August 5: Normal operations. All staff members who have an approved telework agreement must take their IT equipment and any other essential items home with them upon departure from the worksite on their last day of on-site work.
  • Tuesday, August 6: The Charleston TDP will be accessible only to personnel required to be on-Center. Other employees must telework if possible. Reconstitution of Training: Training will reconstitute as soon as it’s safe to resume normal operations.
